Our Story

Serena founded Peopleshare in 2000 after personal experiences that highlighted the massive gap in small companies receiving proper financial management.
In the recession of the early 90s she saw the company she had worked for go into receivership and had to oversee the closure of 70 shops and making hundreds of staff redundant, working alongside the administrators, and seeing the company directors who had worked for years to build a business lose everything. In the same recession her parents lost their business and home when their bank introduced a new lending policy and called the debts in.
Whilst qualifying as a CIMA management accountant she realised that the causes of these business failures, were, as most failures are, text book and generally preventable. She then spent 4 years planning the service that the small business sector was missing, drawing on 10 years in the small business sector seeing what was wrong and using her 10 years of corporate experience with Northern Foods and Next.
Sandy knows all about the importance of numbers and margins from years brought up in the family business and from running her own business for most of her career. She has seen friends' businesses go into liquidation with a full order book, just because no one was in a position to put simple checks in place.
Our approach to what we do, and why we do it, is at the heart of our proven financial management methodology that we use to look after our clients.
We have since spent the last 10 years refining that process to a point where during the current recession so far, none of our clients have failed, or even been in any significant financial difficulties - a testament indeed to the strength of our service.
We do what we do because we cannot bear to see a business fail, or not do as well as it could, through a lack of financial management. We know that a business, to its owner, is everything, and is usually what the owners will be relying on to provide for their families and their retirement.
Together we are driven by these experiences, because they have given us a powerful protective instinct towards anyone that asks us to manage their finances.
